What made Cracker Barrel successful in the first place was its rustic old Southern charm and atmosphere coupled with tasty traditional Southern dishes. This nostalgic approach appealed to a wide swath of rural and suburban people. It was a place to take your family for Sunday lunch or for breakfast while on a road trip.
It was the “down home” nostalgic look and feel of Cracker Barrel that appealed to its customer base. Now Cracker Barrel is doing away with that and going with what appears to be a sterile version of Applebee’s that offers breakfast. Basically, Cracker Barrel is destroying the brand it’s spent the past almost 50 years building.
How the powers that be at Cracker Barrel thought this was a good idea is beyond me.
