I am going to start a thread with a pit bull chasing a person and growling and barking in a couple days

Can’t wait to see the tables turn

You let your dog run outside with no fence?

Dog owners are dumb and shouldn't be dog owners

Only ones I feel for here is the poor dog and the 2 kids.

This thread is actually a perfect example for that. What if the tables were turned & this cop had a k-9 that uncontrollably ran up to those kids & was aggressively barking at them?

Would it be wrong for the parent to shoot that dog?

Problem is that would never happen. Police K-9s are usually some of the most aggressive breeds, but they are properly trained

Don't be so sure of yourself on this one.

Two weeks ago:

quote:

AK9 handler with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is on leave after his dog escaped his outdoor enclosure, jumped a 5-foot fence, and then bit a child who was in the neighboring yard.

The sheriff's office said the incident happened around 4 p.m. on Aug. 11 at the deputy's Castle Rock home while he was off-duty. The child's father intervened and was also bitten by the dog, according to the sheriff's office. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment but have since been released and are recovering at home, the sheriff's office said.

I wish someone was there to shoot that dog so the poor kid didn’t get bit

I feel for the kids. That dog seemed to be aggressive and trouble was on the horizon

Chasing would imply they tried to run away, not taking a step back and then shooting the “dangerous” dog that left two toddlers to run up and bark at you

The cop is backing up and the dog continues to come at him

If your dog approached someone in the same manner as in the OP, how would you expect someone to respond?

there are a ton of things to do. They all eventually lead to harassment claims when they finally prove it was me but I’d enjoy fricking with him until I got caught.

If a damn human did what the dog did it would 100% be “frick around and find out”.

If you can’t differentiate the varying levels of threat of humans/animals coming towards you, you’re a fricking idiot. I’ve been attacked by zero dogs that run at me barking and wagging their tails. How many have you been attacked by? Full retardation shooting the dog, twice. Eat a dick fagot

I have never had a dog run at me like that dog. But I don’t live in a trailer park

I have had dogs run to their property line like that though and stop (likely due to underground fence). And have literally thought “thank god”.

So you’re saying the correct response is to shoot the dog? Not tase or even give the family more than 2 seconds to get to the dog? They were running toward it.

So you're saying all officers should wait until bitten to take action?

Should they use their taser on the dog and the owner pulls a gun out, then what?

The whole reason I created the OP was because it wasn't as clear cut as POS Cop or POS dog owner. People are emotional on both sides.

I'm saying there's some culpability on both human sides and the dog is a dog.

so your answer is just to shoot it?

They make bear mace for a reason. There were other ways for the cop to deter the dog without killing it. But alas trigger happy cops are trigger happy cops

So you would also leave your own property to be an aggressor. Likely where the dog learned it from

Unless your past experiences with barking hyper stimulated dogs playing in the yard with children have led to being attacked by said dog, under no circumstances, as the supposedly superior intellect, should your first reaction be shoot it twice. I’m willing to bet near 100% of you have not been attacked by dogs. Therefore, you’re wrong. And weak and gay.
