About six years ago, the neighbor across the street's life alert went off and a cop came to my house. It was late and my dog was barking.
He had retreated about fifteen steps from the door and had a gun out.
I came out and he said "please don't let that dog out" I told him "five is across the street" he then said "thanks, sorry for bothering you".

I guess that's the closest Elle ever came to being police bait.

She is far from vicious.



Though a year later, my neighbors pitbulls got out and my dog went and got them and brought them back home and a cops saw it and told me "that was pretty neat, she ran up to the dogs then got them to follow her back" He then went on to scream at the neighbors for letting pit bulls out. (in reality the Entergy meter reader left the gate open)

You ever seen the statistics on cops killed by dogs? It's horrifying, they have every reason to be on guard. Keep your killing machine locked up.

ETA:

She did absolutely nothing wrong. That is her domicile, her child was inside, and she was wearing only a towel with two men at the front door. She was not under arrest, they had no probable cause.

In fact, I think the RIGHT thing to do is shut the door, get your cellphone, call the police department and make sure they are real cops, and put clothes on, then go back to the door. That is her right.
