They make the median HOUSEHOLD salary alone in most places while working 2/3's of the year with a gravy schedule and extremely good benefits and retirement. It is disgusting.

I have a career opportunity for you. Are you interested?

He probably makes more than that due to having skills that are marketable outside of little fiefdoms we call school districts.

I've been looking into doing some adjunct work at a local CC, not too shabby of pay with rates around $75-80/hr.

So parents are able to send their kids to the prinicpal's office when they're being a shite head?

the principal doesn't do shite now days because their hands are tied. You cant fail a kid anymore and they know it. If the kid has any kind of 504, BIP or any other plan they are untouchable. The kids literally beat the teachers back to the classroom when sent to the office. The kids don't care and the parents don't care. Teachers can't make chicken salad out of the chicken shite.

Lol some of y'all can't spend 2-3 hours in the evening with your own kids without having a few beers first. Try hanging out with 25 other people's kids and you can't kick their arse for being little shiteheads.

25 or more. Times 4 or 5 times a day. And by "kids" I mean grown arse people in high school. Many from terrible homes with terrible attitudes, no future, no hope.

I don't see how they do it.

They're absolutely miserable human beings. Try marrying one. Geesh

Married 20 years to one, she's awesome.
My mom was a teacher, they've been married 55 years.
My MIL was a teacher, their 50th anniversary is this summer.

Maybe you associate with the wrong folks?

You should have been a teacher.

I know a teacher that missed 33 days of school this year. It’s remarkable really.

Thats why I pass them, and don’t care if they learn a damn thing. I’m there for my check, my weekends off, holidays and the retirement/insurance. Also I love coaching sports. The teachers who are miserable and complain are the ones who are actually trying to teach Tyrone to read.

bitch way too much for people who get summers and student breaks off

Used to be married to a teacher and I thought she should have been bitching more, and all she did during summer and break was just work without getting paid for it.

I know. I wish I had the felling that I would be doing minimal work for the next 60-75 days waiting for the next school session to start. I am getting to the age that I could still earn a decent retirement and collect some social security as long as I stay working before my official retirement and the state retirement benefits kick in.

That is why if anything changed work wise for me, I would not hesitate submitting my application at the nearest school board.
