How are you people getting away with not doing some of these things anymore? Even if you rent, you're paying property taxes indirectly.

This thread got me thinking about how many things have become more burdensome over the years and all I can think of at the moment is air travel.

when i was a teenager, i had a callas on my phone dialing finger. my folks refused to get one of those fancy push button phones.
how about getting up to change the channel on the TV?

Physically get up and change the channel at the cable box by flicking those buttons, each channel had it's own little flicker thing

It's technically required for most wage earners and business owners, but - they don't really care if you don't owe them money.
They have a lot of other stuff to deal with.
