It was part observation, part joke and part question.
BestbankTiger understood what I was wondering about.
When English sports announcers talk about a sports team they treat the team as a group and use plural verbs.
In the US announcers treat the team as a unit and use singular verbs.
If you think about it, you have probably never heard a Saints announcer say, "New Orleans are kicking off."
American announcers usually say, "New Orleans is kicking off."
I wasn't triggered at all. I was just making the observation that the American college football announcer said it like the Brits do.
This part was the joke that I guess made people feel like I was triggered.

I'm kid of glad so many don't know what I'm talking about. I hope it means ESPN will still be showing SEC Football instead of 24 hour soccer when the current contract runs out.
