Even we he says Phase 3, he will keep bars shut and maintain the mask mandate. Other businesses will be allowed 75% with the 6 foot spacing which still means 50% or less for most restaurants. Schools may be able to have contact sports though. Bars won't open and 6foot plus mask mandate will be around until the Spring.

Has Lhsaa made any statements regarding this? It’s like they are hoping people will forget about fall sports

Yep
This hurricane BS has given him an extra excuse to keep things as is. And then next week his excuse will be the Labor Day Holiday.

That has been my optimistic view of the announcement.

A little less optimistic of that this am

All of drive-through community #COVID testing suspended through rest of week

Why is this the case? Couldn't they test in the other 90% of the state that isn't worried about a hurricane? Could have been plenty of testing Monday and Tuesday in most areas as well.

That’s one of their main problems right there. They should quit waiting on the governor and proceed like other states are doing.

It's a nice thought, but that's not how this works.

Just like when everyone says bars should just open up and defy JBE. It won't end well.

So high school sports have to wait until Edwards feels good about opening up bars? Come on. That is crazy

Edwards can carve out anything he wants within any phase is my understanding. So yes, he needs to do whatever is needed to allow high school football even if he still deems that bars are the devil and wants to keep them shutdown.

His dumbass needs to move forward to the next step and maybe use a little common sense by allowing most bars except dance clubs/college bars/Bourbon St. to open.

For "contact" sports to be played we need to be in Phase III. I think he will cave soon, if not tomorrow, rather than risk the season.
