How about AI politicians? This would make up the lack of intelligence that is so obvious in D.C. And their purpose would be to always do what is best for the country and its' citizens. America first!

Your post made me chuckle. I could also use an AI type robot to mow, clean the house, wash my vehicle, and do all of the rest of the stuff I don’t feel like getting involved with.

And that’s why Grandpa keeps bragging that your ARs are no match for F-16s. Those clowns wouldn’t hesitate to bomb their own citizens when push eventually comes to shove

I don’t think it petered out. She had kids, chose to raise them, and became more selective with her roles. What I read somewhere anyway.

How are the resident "my job is safe from AI" folks feeling today?

Meh. They have had AI in sims for a long time. I have AI fighter pilots in a simulator game at home and they are getting better and better. It’s not scary. It’s just the evolution of tech.

There is just a bit of difference in video games and real life.

Is there really any difference for an AI? Does AI even know if it’s playing a video game or a real war?

maybe the citizenry should tell our public servants we don’t endorse or want this

From the technical aspect, I'm curious on the data of it engaging in BVR fights in relation to how human fighter pilots engage long range targets.

Specifically, because it was AI, did it go further towards the target to get higher probability of success with its target? Or did it fire and go cold in the same time-frame that a human pilot would have?

In other words, because it was a machine, did it have the same self-preservation "instincts" that a human pilot would have?

Eventually made it across. We had radio issues trying to cross from Brazil so ended up turning around and going the Northern Route. Total pain in the arse.

I would like to see Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics implemented before this goes any farther.

Everything in the movies that Lucas, Eugene Wesley Roddenberry Sr. and Cameron created, will be real in the future. Wish I could see it....

I wouldn’t be so sure about that.

Any code language parameters that can be added can also be removed.

It would just come down to who is willing to push things too far and human nature and history tells us there is always someone somewhere who will.
