Had family drive in from Texas this weekend. A wreck in BR on Friday delayed them a couple of hours and a wreck in BR today delayed their trip home an extra hour. BR infrastructure is pathetic.

There's a special place in hell for people who roll their eyes in annoyance when their trip is delayed by a wreck. It's likely that wreck is the worst day of the involved persons' lives.

I once sat on i49 south delayed by a wreck. Some rubber neckers actually got out to go see the damage. When they came back, I asked what was going on. "Just one fatality, they're moving it all now." I wanted to strangle that woman.

Trucking companies absolutely monitor their trucks by using E-logs. It's in the works to become a requirement.

Got fricked with traffic yesterday and today coming from and going back to laffy. Delayed over an hour each way. It was infuriating to say the least considering it was a weekend with nothing really going on. Not to mention, having a cranky 6 month old in tow to make it that much more shitty.

They had a parade yesterday.

I guess most posters don't travel much because there are wrecks everywhere.

I have to agree with one of the previous posters. There is a reason 18-wheeler accident attorneys & law firms are so common in Baton Rouge.

It's because 18 wheelers not only make up a lot more traffic than people realize, but they're also easily the most dangerous "commonly" driven vehicle.

Seriously, what can done about this?

Eliminate their entire bloodline. Then bad driving becomes a self-correcting problem.

EDIT: Goddammit, I didn't see that OP bumped an old thread for no fricking reason. That's one more bloodline that needs elimination.

OP didn't do it. I did. I found an old thread because this was something I was interested in.

Move to town so you don't have to drive to work on the interstate.

It is really a head scratcher but sometimes, and I say sometimes, a person may be having a health emergency but not often.

You should have known better than to get on I10 during daylight. Ideal drive times are weekdays at 1am-6am

This man has it figured out. If you start work at 8am leave for work between 1am-6am, sleep in car for a few hours get to work a little early
and look like a motivated employee .Problem solved

A passing score on an IQ test should be required to receive a driver's license.

I would love to see all vehicles over 4 wheels be required to stay in the far left lane unless exiting.
