cash sale, no record

On his purchase side but the eBay sales will generate a 1099, can't run from that.

Just in general regarding eBay businesses not counting the non-businesses most people will file as a sole proprietorship with no employees. This means a Schedule C, Schedule SE and a couple of other forms depending.

In general, they will have to deal with end-of-year inventory and carry over from the previous year. The total paid in which will come in the form of a 1099k from eBay minus the total paid out for the gross profit. In general, the deductions from that will be auction fees, CC processing fees, postage, packing supplies, office supplies, mileage, and any travel costs (hotel, % of meals, etc for those that travel to pick.

Then you have to decide how much of Icarus you want to channel and exactly how close to the sun you want to fly. Home office, computer, printer, camera, internet, etc. The home office is the biggest red flag but you gotta have the right answer at the right time for the rest of you get audited.

If the Lionel set was complete, I would have paid 10 and given it to some kid.

Lionel prices are down, unless it is uncommon or in high grade condition. The market is strong for the nice stuff.

I know, it’s only the 18th of the month, and my LA Purchase card is empty. I got 12 days until it’s reloaded.

As far as LSU goes, it has one of the most valued collectibles in the college world of collecting.

This Sat and Sunday is the Antiques and Uniques Festival in downtown Covington. Vendors from across the SE United States and mid-west.

You might consider checking it out (not to buy, but see if you would be a fit as a vendor next year). Plus, there's nothing wrong with spending a day in Covington.

My hobby makes me money, and I’m not talking just a few dollars. It pays for trips to Italy, Vegas.
And once you’re there, you go to Estate Sales there…

I kid.

Thanks for your postings here.

I had that Creepy Crawler mold set new in ‘68 or so.

The oven got pretty hot. Wonderfully safe kid toy.

MPC bought Lionel out in 1970. With some rare exceptions, MPC Lionel trains never brought a lot of money.

Marx trains seems to be where it is at now on old toy trains. Marx used to be dirt cheap. But, nice Marx (excellent condition, boxed) is bringing more than it ever has. Marx metal is prone to rust, and any rust can be a price killer. An online auction last weekend had five Marx postwar set hit $1500 or more.

This little gem will bring $500 in good shape - the original 35 cent green tractor will bring $200-$300.

I was hoping and praying we’d come across a garage or estate sale while I was in Italy.

She was the one that actually found the Eagle Rare bottle stand display. I told her I’d split the profit with her.

I sold a few things on ebay in 1999. Took a few decades off and recently sold a few items. The shipping kills the profits. Im not on FB so this is my best avenue. How do you get around the shipping costs and ebay fees cutting into your profits so much?

Charge shipping, simple as that.

But actually, shipping charges really don’t matter.

If I sold something for $50 with a $20 shipping charge, the exact same item will sell for $70 if I offered free shipping. Buyers take into account shipping charges when they buy something.
