Is grand theft auto a first or second semester course?

First, how else are they gonna learn to drive if they don't have a car?

What about the people who absolutely, positively, have to have a 1 car length gap in front of them while sitting in line at a traffic light? And then, wait five seconds before proceeding to ensure that there is a huge gap between them and the the car in front of them. frick those people.

My biggest issue that I have encountered lately is that black people, and mostly black women drivers, seem to think that the left lane of the interstate is for driving and not passing.

By "lately" are you talking about the last 30 years?

I blow the horn as soon as the light turns green

I was in traffic next to a texting driver on 190 last week that got way too close to me a couple times. We came to a red light side by side and we were the first two cars.

She was so absorbed in the phone I honked the horn before the light turned green so she’d look at me giving her a WTF look.

The stupid chick started to proceed through the red light for a couple seconds without even looking up. She stopped in time and had to reverse.

Apparently she was so used to the “honk means go forward now dammit” stimulus it completey overrode situational awareness. I won’t honk a texter again like that unless the light is green, but at least she put the phone down after backing up out of the intersection.

People need to become a little quicker on the trigger with the horn. Zero tolerance. Giving them an extra couple of seconds as a courtesy is part of the problem.

I love those people now who will actually look to see if the person in front of them is on a phone. If so, they honk AS SOON as the light turns green.

I don't fault them for taking initiative. But I diddle my device steering wheel level so I can see the light change.

Totally agree. If 5 cars at a light would just all roll together when the light turns green, it wouldn't be an issue.

My dad told me years ago military convoys have a system of so many vehicles moving at one time to reduce that problem. Was necessary for really long convoys.

My ongoing daily frustration as well since a lot of our interstate wrecks and therefore traffic jams are due to distracted driving.

Here’s my solution...
1. Establish a statewide law like most states that only allows hands free operation of a cell phone. No reason we shouldn’t have that already at a minimum

2. set up a phone number where people can email/ text in videos of people texting/ surfing Tigerdroppings etc while driving. Very easy for the passenger in a car on the interstate to video the license plate and the operator of the vehicle on the phone texting/ surfing etc in a 10-20 second video clip. After a review , by police, Person clearly on the phone gets $300 fine. Could Even pay a small fee to the person sending in the video that resulted in the fine.

Would generate revenue for the state without bogging down officers out on the street. Would decrease distracted driving/ accidents/ traffic deaths etc.

Pay the tattlers? Only passengers would participate? Yeah right.
