Depending on your corporate auto insurance, the deductible could be the reason they're taking care of it themselves. We do this on smaller incidents to keep the claim off of the policy especially when the insurance won't be paying anyway. Some corporate deductibles will be 100k+.

The only state that has 1st party diminished value is Georgia. Every other state he would have to go through the at fault party’s carrier.
Yes. And no.
He can run everything through his insurance company and have them deal with the other company after.

If they’re paying to fix it, just make sure the repair is good quality. There is no “diminished value” since there’s no claim on insurance. There won’t be a record of the accident.

Wrong. His carrier cannot subrogate for something they didn’t pay out. They will not pay out on diminished value for 1st party (except Georgia) so they will not send the diminished value request to the at fault carrier. They may direct him to the at fault carrier, but normally that’s only if he asks about it.
Edit: They can surrogate for your deductible and then refund that to you even though they didn’t technically pay that out, but it’s because they are subtotaling for the full repair bill. Some at-fault carriers will issue the deductible to the not at-fault party, but most of them just wait for the subrogation demand.

As said above as long as it's handled in house and not reported to anyone diminished value should not be a concern, who will know?
How many carfax employees are board members here? The downvotes for anyone mentioning this dubious service are hilarious. Carfax is right up there with Ticketmaster.

Or be happy they are fixing it and it’s not being reported so when you do get rid of it, the damage won’t come up on any type of report like car fax
If it’s being repaired at a repair shop, it’s being reported.

There shouldn't be diminished value for an unreported accident on private property.

If he’s a junior executive, you should probably just beat him up.

Maybe I'm an a-hole, but I would 100% ask for it.
It’s not an a-hole to ask for it, it’s risky depending on how your employer is set up. It could affect your employment. Of course he should ask, but that doesn’t mean it’s the smartest choice.

This sounds like an incredibly bad idea, and I'd rather go through insurance.

Do you think if the situation was reversed he would be so acceptable?
Hell to the NO!!!
Make his insurance cover it and if you get some type of reprisal then hire an attorney and make them pay.
Your hard earned money that he f-d up with his negligence…make that beyotch pay up!

Lots of LEOs don't report, private owners rarely report, dealership lot damage isn't reported, and highly doubt 100% of body shops report.
