Fiestas are actually very popular outside of this country.

My wife prefers driving sedans because they are small and easy to park. She'd take out half of the city in a Tahoe.

The Sonic, Cruze, Focus, and Fiesta are very popular vehicles worldwide. Only in America would they not be considered on par with the Yaris, Corolla, or Golf.

Your second sentence has nothing to do with what you were replying to. Most crossovers offer exactly what the first guy said they do.
No they don't. Most of them look like minivans, are several inches lower than real SUVs, and don't perform as well as a sedan on road.
It's the worst of both worlds IMO.

I feel like you just like speaking in cliches about these vehicles with basically no actual knowledge of them. My Edge is a great vehicle and does everything 99% of "SUV" buyers need to do.

drive a Subaru Outback FWIW . It's a badass vehicle. Same ground clearance as a Silverado so I can hop curbs if I need to, AWD is awesome, and its got some feisty pop with the bigger engine option. Its a blast to drive and it absolutely crushes bad weather.
I agree man! I have an ‘18 Subie Outback for my company car and it rocks. Had the choice of a Forester or Legacy but (selfishly) picked Outback cause of the built-in crossbars so I could put my mountain bike & kayak up there & ground clearance. Plus it beats the hell out of a Fusion...best company vehicle ever!

Your Outback is actually one of the few alternatives to a real SUV that actually has respectable performance off road, in the snow, and on pavement. It's a great station wagon with few competitors. It should be more popular than it actually is.
Well, it does have a certain stigma to it. Only a small market of ladies will actually buy it, and they're usually wearing flannel and are more manly than the fake country bros in their 4x4 pickups blasting Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.

Didn't say it wasn't.
It does look like a minivan.
It doesn't drive as good as sedan.
It can't tow anything of substance.
It can't go off road.
Maybe that works for you.

Don't need it too, just like most people.

It does, just like most people, which is why they are way way way more popular than body on frame SUVs.

.........and then when fuel prices rise once again to over 3.25 a gallon and a barrel pushes over 100.00, then people are going to look for fuel efficient vehicles that get you 35-40 a gallon

Another example of why you don't take car advice from the OT.

Great Planet Money episode on this.
It was an intentional marketing campaign by Subaru to get the lesbians. I love pulling up next to Outbacks at the red lights and giving a nod to the lesbo next to me. We're in a tight little lesbo club.
And when we get snow a few times a year and eveyrone in Nashville panics and stays home, me and those lesbos are out beboppin around town.

Lots of pricey sedans out there. Not everyone feels the need to overcompensate with their vehicle size.

They are, sadly, my least favorite vehicles on the road. Most mainstream models are basically minivans without the sliding doors.
Crossovers are automotive bisexuals. It's the way of the future. Everything is heading to convergence

Crossovers were the future in 2012. Crossovers are the market in 2018. Sedans are almost gone. Body on frame SUVs are almost gone. Crossovers and trucks are, by far, the dominant vehicle classes already and pulling away by the moment.
