Holy hell. The amount of ignorance in this thread is astounding. To sum it up: a) Obama doesn't care about MURICA cause he's taking time off. b) He thinks all of this is funny because of one image of him smiling.
The only thing you're doing with those opinions is making yourself look like a moronic FOX News parrot. Take some time to read actual material you stupid hillbillies, and come at him with the numerous reasons he should be ridiculed by the right.

It's not a "blood on his hands" situation, but it's a situation where repeated incompetence and bad messaging have totally destroyed American foreign policy at present
Best way to sum it up.
I don't think a Special Ops mission would have all that great of an effect. It's kind of like the hydra - cut one head off and another grows back. Like Al Queada (sp) and the taliban. Unfortunately, this is a group that won't go away, no matter how many are killed (unless, of course it is every single one of them...)

That is the Catch-22 here. In order to successfully eradicate ISIS, it will require cooperation among the US and either: A.) The Assad regime that we have labeled and treated as a terrorist organization. B.) The Iranian government. Neither options are very attractive, and this explains the lack of direction we seem to have in dealing with the ISIS threat. The best weapon against ISIS is non-radical Muslims who refuse to let the Caliphate spread any further. Their the only ones who can really stop it.
Could very well be. It seems like every possibility is a Catch-22, though....Arming the non-radicals is a risk, in it's own right. Our military just finished attacking what was formerly our own equipment now owned by these ISIS shitbags. What a mess it all is....

Don't sit back and blame Obama for this. There was nothing he could do.
Sure there is. He could stop thinking about Nov and risking a read my lips-no new taxes moment...and do the right thing, send in SOF to get these bastards to the 72 virgins as quickly as possible

It's chess, bro. Not checkers. Are biggest weapon against these guys is intel. You gotta be smart when striking these guys.

I couldn't make it past page 4 of this thread because of stupid fricking rednecks complaining about Obama.

FYI it's not just limited to wars and conflicts. I am also taking into account that violent crimes are also way down overall.
But the context of this conversation is about wars and conflicts and not about things like muggings and home invasions.

True. But as I said, its like a damn hydra - cut off one head and two more grow back...

I'm not watching these videos any more, but is it is fake as the last one?

True, but when you attack the leadership, it can take a while for these groups to reorganize.

Personally the way I see it is that this method has been tried.....people have now resorted to stupidity before the last option....just shut up and wait until 2016 gets here and hope we can afford the wait and implement the correct changes.

What part of we (the human race) are the most peaceful we have ever been can some of you not grasp?
That includes ALL violence. Not just wars and conflicts.
ETA: My original response was to someone saying "we live in a sick world" so it wasn't limited to wars.

I was bored earlier today and looking at some ISIS fighter's Twitter accounts, and they are some sick frickers.

Oh the heels of that, how accurate is this statement from an un-named news source?
quote:
The president's team has publicly suggested that the group only recently gained in strength, accounting for why Obama earlier this year dismissed such extremists as akin to a "JV" team.
But after suggestions that the administration may have been blindsided by the rise of ISIS, and that poor intelligence was to blame, the former Pentagon official said some of the intelligence was so good in the region, that when the president drew a red line on chemical weapons use in Syria in 2012, the information was "exquisite."
The source said "[we] were ready to fire, on a moment's notice, on a couple hundred targets," but no order was given. In some cases, targets were tracked for a "long period of time" but then slipped away.
