The old home warranty run around. Enjoy that crap.
The worst part is you don't get to pick who does the service. You have to deal with the bottom of the bottom repair companies. The only people who would use their service are the home warranty companies paying pennies on the dollar.
Forget you have the warranty, and use a reputable local company. You will come out ahead in the end, even if the warranty was "free".

We’ve had AHS for 10 years. Can’t say enough good things about them. The peace of mind not having to cover a huge expense is worth it.
Unfortunately, the 6 times we had to call them the fix wasn’t covered in our plan.

What I’d ask before approving the repair-
I would politely ask:
* “What were the suction and discharge pressures?”
* “What were the superheat and subcooling readings?”
* “What specifically indicates the TXV is bad rather than low refrigerant or poor airflow?”
* “Why can’t my recovered refrigerant be reused? Is it contaminated, or is that simply your company’s policy?”
A competent technician should be able to answer those questions.

Any of those $500 "home protection warranties" are a total scam.
Get an equipment breakdown rider on your home insurance policy. $500 deductible and they replaced my entire garage door a few months ago with just 2 pictures.

Make sure evaporator, blower fan wheel, and filter are clean. Clean condenser while you’re at it.

I got the run around by AHS and their repair company for nearly a year. Ended up with a bad repair that broke within a year. Cancelled that shite and put in a new system.
