Do you really get $15.00 a month of value out of them ?
I mean, policy and politics aside, you’ll save that on shipping for 2-3 small packages.
ETA: I don’t care for Amazon, Google and so forth’s policies; however, they’re saving me a lot of money and making me a lot as well through investments.

just I totally respect Amazon's right to NOT carry Parler...
The issue here is that there are extremely limited platforms and this appears to be collusion. Anti trust laws exist for these reasons.

This is some of the shite that is posted.
January 19th and 20th will be interesting.. And it is likely the reason you see what is happening with banning certain people from these platforms. And Google and Apple banning certain platforms. Its a security issue.

Remember how quickly he was confirmed, and into the Chief Justice job at that? Someone's got dirt on that guy. I don't read all that QAnon crap, but if there's one area that really might be tightly controlled from behind-the-scenes it's the Supreme Court.
Look at Roberts, Souter, Earl Warren, and all the other judges who've turned liberal. Consider how Scalia died in the middle of the desert with a pillow on his face- no autopsy.
Who was David Souter? As far as I can tell, he's a closet homosexual who'd never made an important ruling in his life until he found himself a Supreme Court justice. That is what we got from a Republican administration.
This was the one area where Trump actually made some difference, and it probably explains the way he was treated as much as anything. (Nobody in the media or Congress actually gives a shite about Mexicans or blacks.

is Amazon the government?

I may not want to force Amazon to host them
ok, then what's the problem?

big tech is left leaning so the censorship will all be one sided.
may lean left, but again, this is between two PRIVATE companies, not a private company being shut down by the government...

dude, trans people have been using their chosen sex bathroom for YEARS... point being, how do you know that the "guy" in the stall you think is taking a shite, isn't really a woman? you don't... just like your wife/gf doesn't know the that woman in the other stall is actually a dude... the entire argument of trans people using they opposite bathrooms will promote pedophilia and shite is ridiculous....

Yet this post was perfectly okay. And Khamenei is still on twitter.

All summer Twitter was used by rioters and antifa for comms and coordination. I saw it play out.
Of course Twitter can't block everything. I don't believe it is possible (though some stuff is suspect).
With everything else that is going on and this move from Amazon, it is obvious there are different standards for different people.
It just so happens my prime sub is up for renewal on the 12th. I'm not renewing.

Big tech and media companies are just about all left leaning and they can essentially silence all opposing voices if they want to

let me guess... you are normally, anti-regulation, small government, right? EXCEPT, in this case... am I getting this right?

So you're ok with monopolies and cartels existing?

As long as they support your cause it appears. It's a private business!
So what exactly does one do if Google, Amazon and Apple shutdown your platform? Start your own smartphone company?

nope, but I'm also not a small government, anti-regulation Republican, either....

Collusion by big tech to censor conservative thought on their platforms.
Also, and I haven't looked that closely, it appears Amazon made this decision and are giving them almost no time to find another hosting site? What's the rush as long as they are actively looking at options?
Posted on 1/10/21 at 4:39 pm to Centinel
The simple answer is that someone will start a conservative platform for some of these issues. I think the danger here is business wise Amazon and others are drawing a line in the sand on politics which is going to limit them financially in the future.

So do you see an issue with the fact that both Apple and Google deplatformed Parler when they own the entire mobile device app market between the two of them?

dunno... start your own tech company... nothing stopping anyone from doing that.... might now do all that much, or it could blow up and be the next hot thing...

That's literally what Parler did in response to Twitter.

Parler can use another cloud service, buy its own servers, or rent servers from a traditional (i.e. non-cloud) host company. There's no cartel or monopoly here- and that's good.
Facebook, Twitter, etc. come closer to being monopolies but don't quite get there, in my opinion. If Trump really can't get his message out without Twitter, that's Trump's problem.

A company that would take easily a decade to develop.
Stuff like this is just going to further divide the country and push people further into their political corners.
