Amazon’s virtual assistant, Alexa, allowed a user in Germany to get access to more than 1,000 recordings from another user
quote:
The unidentified user had asked the voice assistant to play back recordings of his own activities made by Alexa, and in doing so, he was able to get 1,700 audio files from a complete stranger after Amazon sent him a link
quote:
A man and woman could be overheard conversing on the recordings
quote:
“This unfortunate case was the result of a human error and an isolated single case.”
quote:
The person who received the stranger’s recordings claimed he initially got no reply from Amazon when the user informed the company that he was given the wrong files.

I have no idea why anyone would want one of those things

I have one in every room of the house so they can get my wife after she murders me.

Reason #19063257 I think Alexa and similar products are incredibly idiotic.

Just an isolated incident folks. Nothing to see here.

The thing is useless. I don’t understand the point of it.

Unless it's given permission to record you, how would this be permissible in court? Do you think amazon is just going to freely admit they record when they aren't supposed to so they can help throw your wife in the slammer?

Because I carry a prerecorded statement giving police permission to check the tapes up my anus at all times. And the crucifix around my neck is engraved with "Check my a-hole" on the back.
Any other brain busters?

Says everyone about every new technology device.
I remember when the iPad was considered clunky and useless. It wasn't as powerful as a laptop and was much bigger than a phone. The tablet market eventually grew to over 200 million units being sold a year.

Same thing I said about Facebook
Then about smart phones
Then about smart tv’s
If you get one you will understand why they’re awesome.
And who gives a shite if it records you?
Last I checked my family doesn’t discuss murdering someone or plots to take down governments

iPad's don't have the ability to record you without your permission. Legislation/regulation has not kept up with technology and information holders become incredibly powerful.

People: Alexa/google home is just a wire tap and they can hear everything you say. I’ll never have one...
Also people: (own multiple phones/tablets/computers that also record audio and additionally video)
