They have been beating their estimated delivery time by a couple of days in my recent experience. And I've been using them a lot.

We are fools for paying $120ish for 2 day delivery.
I get same day delivery on many items. In some cases they'll deliver between 4:30am and 8:30am the next morning, too. If Amazon is doing the actual fulfillment (not third party), then I'll definitely have it in 2 days or less.

Ask them for 30% of your membership this year. They’ll credit you for their difficulties. After all, they know that most people have prime for the two day shipping

Most of this country was under a stay at home order. Many of them have been ordering stuff online which they did not do so before. Of course they are backed up and delayed.

Theorically
Also wouldn't volume only increase their ability deliver and economy of scales

The focus on PPE isn't just going out. They've delayed taking delivery of a lot of nonessential stuff (books & other media being the mail things.) I've seen a lot of stuff like that become "currently unavailable" quite quickly.

They have been up front with delayed prime shipping. I still find things are only in transit for 1-2 days, it just takes longer for them to ship. I would say 1/2 of our orders arrive at least 1 day earlier than the predicted arrival date, especially stuff do on Mondays, we have been getting lots of Sunday deliveries, even from USPS. We have shifted a lot of our shopping online because we hate waiting in lines and it is difficult to bring our autistic 5 year old out with a lot of stores restrictions. I am glad Amazon sells groceries!!

That’s because they’re intentionally under promising.

I think they’re milking the shite out of this. Keep collecting those Prime fees while taking upwards of a week to ship shite. Last three things I’ve ordered missed their dates too.

I've found Amazon has been the best in terms of delivery during this thing. Insta-cart hasn't been bad. Wal-Mart has been the slowest.
Although to be honest, I haven't relied on delivery all that much more than I used to. I never really stopped going to the small local mom and pop type stores, and started going back to the big grocery stores about a week or two in. Just recently started going back to the big Wal-Mart type stores.

Prime only applies to Fulfilled by Amazon.
If you buy from a third party seller you have to look at their timeframe.

amazon prime is a joke
the sales are crap, prime video is crap, and i was getting 2-3 day delivery w/o prime.
We are fools for paying $120ish for 2 day delivery.
Unless you really enjoy prime video I have no idea why you would still pay for it at this point.

I think they are either saving cost or have a real workforce issue
