So plan on buying a few more high end things to upgrade my computer with, Graphic cards being one of them.

Is it worth it? Anyone ever bought one and had to use it?

What do they support beyond manufacturer's warranty? Is it for accidental damage?

I've been upgrading my PC components sporadically for the last 10 years.

Manufacturer's warranties are typically sufficient on their own for major components.

Warranties/insurance for purchase are always a net gain for the party selling the warranty and net loss for the party purchasing the warranty. That is why I never purchase warranties/insurance for anything other than things that would cause me significant financial or legal harm should things go wrong (e.g., car insurance, home insurance, life insurance). Even with car insurance it isn't worth it to me if you are just factoring replacing your own car. It's worth having when you factor in things like the other person's car and, more importantly, serious injuries to either party.

Insurance for a computer part? Not something I would purchase.

Amazon has a fantastic initial return policy if SHTF. Manufacturer's warranty should take care of the rest.

The only time I'd get an extra warranty is if I bought a TV from Best Buy and kept it outside

Consumer Reports says "no", unless it is a laptop.

Pay with Amex and you'll get an extra year...unless the warranty is dirt cheap I wouldn't bother.

How much is it? If it's real cheap, just buy it. Otherwise, amazons customer service is too good. I've returned stuff (including electronics) outside of the return date up to a year+ later. The most I've been charged is a re stocking fee which isn't bad at all.

Amazon is the best customer service I've ever dealt with.
