I get that advertisers just want to be remembered. But surely not in a “Look how stupid this commercial is” way.

Has to be blind. I put it on quietly, being at work, and it's clear what it's for. It shows the product and then hints at something before it explicitly states the key point of the commercial.

What’s the key point? That the battery life of an IPhone is long? It’s retarded with stupid music. Let’s make an inanimate object - literally a wall outlet- start singing lyrics I can’t understand. That’s the impression I get. To not buy an IPhone bc the commercial is so dumb.

The ad itself is kind of bland and unappealing, but it does rub me the wrong way that Apple's trying to sell things on the basis of long battery life.
Apple has a history of shenanigans around battery life going back at least 20 years. They sold devices that used software to calculate battery charge (vs. actually measuring it), and as the device got older the software just assumed your battery was getting shittier and shittier- whether that was true or not.

I don't disagree with any of that. There's lots of retards out there and that was their target with this commercial.
