Will be flying through MSP for a wedding out in rural West MN in August. The Sunday we fly back we'll have some time to kill since our flight until 7 or so PM. The go-to move would be to find a brewery or two to check out before we have to be at the airport.

That sounds great. I work from home and Im super flexible. Also, I am 5 years sober so I can drive you around. I have alcohol in my house and my SO drinks so it's no issue and I'd love to check out some breweries. Marc 7133494275. Keep in touch friend
Im 49 from BR LSU 95 FYI.

Interesting. I usually get the opposite reactions from out of towners. People here for business from L.A., NYC, and other large cities often stop me when I’m walking downtown and ask for directions. Their comments are generally about how mpls is larger than they thought and how clean and beautiful the city is.

I was thinking Chicago
NY is similar but much bigger, LA and Houston are very different, and everything else is much smaller.

Most people I know who live there live in the burbs, not Minneapolis itself.

Before it self- Mogadishued and made itself sick from the Fundamentalist Progressivism I always found it to be one of the most pleasant cities to visit.

Minneapolis is the default destination for every farm kid from the midwest US and Canada who did not want to work on their family farms. There rising up like OZ out of the flat prairie stands Minneapolis. Liberal Siren calling.

Moved to St Paul last year and love it for the most part. Nice place to live. St Paul is just the right size for me, Minneapolis is a little too big but nice to have all it has to offer just 10 minutes away. Four seasons, river bluffs, endless bike trails...good area.

You looking at the wrong pics then. Minneapolis has a big downtown & is fairly clean & nice. My company headquarters is there. You might be looking at pics of St. Paul, which is across the River.

Great. If you appreciate all the diversity that the Earth has to offer. Like the potential diversification of your head from your shoulders by a Somali terrorist for example.

I am trying to find some LSU alums here
I met a few LSU fans up there. One of them was a guy from Houma that opened a New Orleans themed Cajun restaurant called "Bistro La Roux". It was my favorite place to eat in the twin cities. Only place in Minnesota to find beignets, boudain, king cake, shrimp/grits, and Abita beer. Had a room modeled to look like a New Orleans courtyard and had live jazz music every Friday. It was the only place in Minnesota that did a Mardi Gras party.
He closed it down last year. I believe he retired and is still lives in the metro.
Go google "Bistro La Roux". It was featured in a couple magizines/websites while I lived there.

You in high school, bruh. It’s called a MSA. Metropolitan statistical Area. That’s how you Judge the size of a major US city. Minneapolis is the 16th largest in the country.

It’s waaaay to damn cold up there for me though. It hurts to walk outside right now.

Reminds me of how little I know about other "big" cities. Cincinnati, Cleveland, Sacremento, Portland. I know those are bigger cities but I don't know shite about them or their relative size

There's plenty up there to choose from. The hotel I normally stay at has one on tap called Falling Knife that is pretty good.

That looks kind of like NOLA sized.
