My point is it isn't anything serious. 80-90% of this board would turn down an invite for a picture with Obama yet they're up in arms that he hasn't visited the family of the officer who was killed in Jefferson Parish.
You and I both know this shite is 100% useless. It is ceremonial. It is the presidential equivalent of a participation trophy.
Do I wish he'd do something else? Sure. Is it going to really bother me one way or the other? No, no it's not.

Did Obama meet Alton Sterling's child rape victim?
I am 99% sure this kid IS the rape child.

Kind of my thoughts. I think it's a pretty divisive political move no doubt, but maybe this is a good influence for a kid who surely didn't have one before.
Now back to the politics of it, I read another board that is typically not political and not nearly as "southern conservative". In discussing this shooting, some bashed Obama for being more divisive and others could not grasp what was meant and how anyone could feel that way. This is a prime example. Before this is fully reviewed and trials take place, he has decriminalized the "victim" completely. Same as he did when he made his Treyvon Martin statements. At the highest level of leadership in the country, he stokes the fire leaving little doubt that it was anything but racism in the eyes of those who want it to be so badly. In other words, being divisive.

I don't think they are up in arms about that, it's the fact that he chooses a piece of shite's son to go visit for window dressing instead of doing anything good to unite the country.

Your common sense will be lost on slackster as he takes yet another contrarian view point.

This board is ridiculous sometimes. 15 year old kid comes out and says all of this:
And all you dumbasses can latch on to is that a 15 year old called his felonious father a good man. You love to preach about agendas and narratives and yet you cannot get out of the way of your own agenda. Other than Sterling being a good man, this is the exact message that ends to be preached and carried out, yet many of you are too blind to see any logic even when it slaps you in the face.
quote:
"Good morning everyone. I came to talk about, one, about the death of my father, two, how I feel about people in general. First of all, I want to talk about how I feel about people in general. I feel that people in general, no matter what the race, is that we should come together as one united family. There should be no more arguments, disagreements, violence, crimes. Everyone should come together as one united family. My father was a good man. That was a sacrifice to show everyone what has been going on in life. And it should give everyone a push that everyone should be together, not against each other. Everyone should be on one accord, not a different note. Everybody needs to be together, not apart. And, I truly feel that my father was a good man and he will always be a good man. But, at the same time, he has a lot of loved ones out here that are really here to support me, my mother, the rest of my brothers and sisters and my father. They are here to support everyone. And I want to thank everyone that are supporting us. I want to thank y’all very much for supporting us. And another thing, protesting. I feel that everyone, yes, you can protest. But I want everyone to protest the right way. Protest in peace. Not guns, not drugs, not alcohol, not violence. Everyone needs to protest in the right way with peace, not violence. None what so ever. Thank y’all."

You would deny your children a chance to meet with the president?
You sound like a POS

I wonder who wrote that speech for the kid

Is the child from the 14 year old Alton raped getting to meet Obama?

That cop was specifically mentioned a page ago. I'm going to be first in line to criticize Obama's 8 years and the divide they've brought to this country, but in this specific case, I get it. It's useless, it's irrelevant, and the vast majority of this board would be insulted to sit down with the president, yet they lose their mind the he does something like this.

No I think he's saying he wouldn't want his child to meet with Obama. I wouldn't either.

Did you read the very next sentence? Let me quote it for you since you seemed to miss it.
quote:
That was a sacrifice to show everyone what has been going on in life.
What sacrifice did his piece of shite dad make to "show everyone what has been going on in life?" His dad died because he was a piece of shite, there was no sacrifice. All his death shows is that if you're a piece of shite carrying a gun and resist arrest, you'll be killed. As you should. There's no sacrifice there.

Does it matter? Is the message wrong? Is a 15 year old calling their deceased father a 'good man' really that perplexing?

I read the quote. That sentence stuck out because I really don't understand the context within the speech.

Except that he wasn't. Even up to the second he died.

No, it's not really perplexing to them. But apparently, if this kid doesn't publicly blame the community for their own problems and call his dad a POS, he is nothing more than a POS too.
