hit him in the back with a taser. No way that guy could outrun those two officers. Have one officer draw his pistol and the other draw his taser. Now you have both options on the scene and can choose accordingly to his counteraction.

Did you not see that the tasers were not effective?

No, but he could create enough distance to be able to get his weapon out and start shooting.

True, but people have argued against letting him stay upright because they said he obviously wasn't complying, so the same argument can be used about taking him to the ground.
In other words, if you don't think letting stand up is going to help because it gives him easier access to his gun, then you obviously think it is reasonable that he'll go for his weapon, so taking him to the ground when he's bigger than you and has already overcome two Tasers seems like the worse of the two scenarios.
Taking him to the ground may have been the better call, but not for the reasons stated.

He had already been tazed and was unfazed. Also, it doesn't matter if he can outrun them. If he takes off, he gets far enough away to draw his weapon. He can also take a position of cover in that short time or get to a less lit area.

I understand that, but that doesn't seem like a reasonable outcome given the two officers had him cornered against the car, another car, and his CD table. He also was just standing there. Running at that point seems highly unlikely.

lol, who is going to run away from two cops with guns pointed at them no more than 3 feet away?

Jesus dude
You're questioning whether the shooting should have taken place while simultaneously questioning them for trying to resolve the matter without deadly force first.

slackster confirms that he's not professional tactician in these matters then proceeds to input his unprofessional ignorant opinion on the matter.

The officers have fulfilled the prophesy they were put on this planet for. I wonder what the rest of us are destined to do.

No, he was killed for his actual actions.

all cops should be black.
like yea I might be racially profiled because i’m a white. but at worst i’ll just get a speeding ticket or an open container because i’m a white male and i abide by the most important laws of society.
i should be prez.

So what do you think the cops should've done? They had tazed him twice, he was still resistant, and they knew he had a gun on him as it had been reported.
Wait until he does pull it all the way out at close range and shoot one of them before they act?
Posted on 7/6/16 at 12:06 pm to LNCHBOX
Even before he made the decision to resist, he made the decision to carry a gun (illegal as a felon) concealed (illegal without CCP). If he resisted and didn't have the gun, he wouldn't have been shot.
