had one today nearly caused a few accidents. going 40mph in a 55mph zone during knock off traffic with average traffic going 60mph.
right lane wasnt blocked either, they just think they own the road and if they arent in a hurry then no one else should be

Now that is a problem.

The problem comes when people who feel they are going fast enough decide to not move right after passing a car but sit in the left as 15 over is “fast enough” that I don’t need to move.
If I am going 10 miles over the speed limit I will gladly move over and let whoever is behind me go as fast as their car will go.....unless the right is going 5 miles under. Then your arse can wait.

If the guy doing 80 isn't completing his pass reasonably quickly then the guy doing 95 has every reason to bitch. Doesn't matter what the speed limit is, if you intend to pass then complete your pass and move over. If you're doing 80 and taking your time passing someone going 78 why did you bother?
trucks do this frickin shite all the time, truck at back doing 66mph decides to pass the truck in front only doing 65mph, proceeds to take 6 miles driving side by side to complete the pass and get over

if your passing, then press the frickin gas pedal down and pass then switch the cruise control back on after you pass him, dont pass using cruise control so it take 10 full minutes to pass him

Who cares if he is? The left lane is not the "fast lane", it's the passing lane.
Yeah, he would be passing everyone. Once he stops passing everyone, then he moves. The person trying to drive faster needs to wait.

I was stuck behind a big rig westbound on I-12 in the far left lane. When I-10 merged in he immediately moved 2 lanes further to the left. I swear some people think you’re supposed to stay as far left as possible.
I wish there was some way to safely express yourself to other drivers...like a digital billboard on top of my car that I can pre-program different messages.

Went to sonic about an hour ago. I don't drive slowly in the left lane though.

I bet most of the complainers in these threads can't drive nails.

I feel ya, brother. I really do. But with a luck like mine as soon as I break 6 over the limit my arse is getting pulled over and ticketed.
Bottom line is this. The left lane is for passing. Period. Once you complete your pass,
MOVE.
THE frick.
OVER.
The problem as I see it is too many people, regardless of speed, consistently drive in the left lane because they know that in a few minutes they will be passing again. Its laziness and selfishness. It creates all kinds of other problems for people like me who actually get back in the right lane once Im done passing.
Heres a tip. Use your fricking cruise control. Set at the speed limit or 5 over. I know math is hard, especially for you LA educated baws but the extra 5 or 10 MPH IS NEGLIGIBLE in time savings over the length of most peoples commute. Then, when youre ready to pass you can bump your cruise control up to 5 or 10 MPH over and pass in a reasonable amount of time without really risking a ticket or inconveniencing other drivers in the passing lane trying to go 135 MPH, burning up all their gas and wearing out their engines so they can get to the Walmarks an extra 3 minutes earlier.

My route truck is governed at 65mph.
And no, I won't stay out of the left lane if I need to pass someone.

I mean, I understand it's frustrating, but I've got work to do.
I pass when I can, and get over as soon as I'm able.
I may be an a-hole, but I'm not a 100% dick.

It's an epidemic. It really is. No one knows how to drive anymore.

It was funny seeing someone getting some extreme road rage while on the interstate, which has 2 lanes all the way. So this person was in the fast lane going slow as shite, like 60 something and there is a guy behind them riding their arse with their bright lights on. I'm the next car behind them (3rd) and there is a semi truck in the right lane who is also going the same speed as everyone else. Eventually the semi struggles going up a hill and we all finally pass after a long time of this bulshit, and I can finally pass the dumbass'es in the fast lane going slow as sh*t. So as I'm going back to normal 80 mph speed, I'm watching them in the rear view mirror until I finally can't see them any more. This was happening in the early morning while it was very dark out, so it was obvious who had the bright lights on. Well this one car is still in the fast lane the whole time going slow as shite, with the other car riding his/her arse with their bright lights on.

I wish a cop was there to do their fricking job.

Great topic. I hated left lane mopes even when I was a kid riding with my dad or uncle. It used to not be as bad as it is now though.
But my state (VA) passed a law that allows drivers to be ticketed if they cruise in the left lane without attempting a pass. So far, they've passed out 16,000+ tickets in the past year or so. Hells yeah! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
Saw a smart arse big rig driver get yanked by a state trooper out of the left lane for playing "shoulder to shoulder" block with another trucker on the way to Charlotte last summer. Both a-holes kept it at about 40-50 on I77 (70 mph limit). I guess they thought it was funny to back traffic up for miles. I wonder how much Bubba was laughing as the cars tooted our horns as we passed by him standing beside John J. Law?
Why, man? What's the point of being like that?

You are 100% a dick. It’s a tiny dick, but still 100%.

Mine is governed to 68, I will take 8 miles to pass you

But honestly, the dick is the truck in the right lane, not the left.
If a truck governed to 70 mph is passing me, I'll let off to let him get out of the way.
Smarter too because when I catch up to you, driving 65, I don't have to wait for the 78 cars the faster truck had been holding up to pass by before i can pass you.

They should be dragged from their cars and murdered right there on the shoulder

Louisiana has the same law. Judging the driving habits of many, less than 16 tickets have been written.
