You really think the superbowl is gonn have a tribute band at halftime?

You use famous singers and play their songs, not a hard concept. You get the best of both worlds, famous people brats on the internet know and actually good music.

That was really bad, like, embarrassingly bad.

I had never heard those songs, couldn't understand anything he was saying, and had no idea what the dancers were trying to accomplish.

Total fail imo.

It was hugely embarrassing to the City but also an affront to middle America tastes. Just another middle finger from the woke NFL. It was a terrible game; I wish I had gone out drinking instead.

It was terrible. Bad all the way around and through. I kept waiting on some surprise cameo to save it and it never happened.

Except they have rap, too

The worst version I've ever heard is the Afro/island variations from the UK. I also hate AfroHouse EDM. Reminds me of that horrible style of rap from DC years ago.

Halftime show was horrendous. NFL is so tone deaf if they think a fraction of their audience even knows who Kendrick Lamar is, nor do they give a damn about him and Drake.

Define irony - NFL blows its load on “End Hate” slogan for the last 5 years, yet decides to allow (and support) an artist to continue his hate feud with another artist on their biggest stage of the year.

Louis Armstrong to Fats to Dr John. You could put on a hell of a tribute show and highlight the musical history of a city known for music.

Just those three would make a great show. Add the Professor and Alan Toussaint, or Irma Thomas and you’ve got a great musical tribute of New Orleans’ contributions to to outstanding music throughout the years. Harry Connick is just one guy who could help pull it off.

There’s a reason the Stones and other famous rock bands fall in love with New Orleans’ derived music when they discover it.

It needs to be pop or nostalgic rap with pop surprise additions.

Rock bands are terrible for the halftime show. Terrible.

At least Maroon 5 is pop-rock and had variations of the performance and guest stars

The Who, Stones, Tom Petty, etc. were complete shite.

The boomer-rock acts were a overreactive response to the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake incident.

Correct

Today you're seeing the same boomer/old Gen X overreaction to last night's sbitty halftime show.

Standard rock doesn't work. Most rap doesn't work. It needs to be primarily pop and that works for a reason.

the last "rock" halftime show

then roc nation took over and we got:

Shakira
Jennifer Lopez

The Weeknd

Dr. Dre Snoop Dogg Eminem

Rihanna

Usher Mary J. Blige Kendrick Lamar

then kendrick lamar again
