Could be the advent of roofing contracting companies. Used to be an old man with his son or son-in-law that replaced roofs. Now it’s teams of 25 year olds driving $80K F-250s going door to door telling people they have roof damage.

Jumped from $1300 a year to $3,000 a a year. 130 % increase, never one claim, 8 years with All State. What gives?

Was your house new construction? There is a big discount for new homes (should have fewer problems) that runs out at some point.

Find a new broker, cause flooding has ZERO to do with rate increases, as flooding is not covered by home insurance.

They are raising prices to offset the claim in high risk areas.

I just called Allstate and switched. New policy is $2000 cheaper for the year than what my renewal would have been.

Now just pray you don't have a claim.

If you could see what is happening with all those Laura, Delta and Ida hurricane claims. People have some roof damage from the storm. They claim water intrusion, gut the house and do a full remodel, knocking out walls, putting in upgrades throughout. The judges and juries don’t blink and award 250K on what should have been a 40K claim.
Lawyers and public adjusters are robbing the system and now we are all going to pay.
A hurricane claim is the new whiplash claim for the trial lawyers.
