She weighs probably 260. Still interested?
If you can't handle her at her worse you don't deserve her at her best

Paying the previous owner. Vastly overpayed for the business.
Sounds like the asset isn't tangible ie customer list.
How are you valuing arguably company is worth zero and only driver of value is service you do

I'm not the one bringing up her weight on here. Others were. Like I said, I don't give a shite about her looks.

Yes. The driver is the service I do. How is that valued? Net profit of business is probably 90k a year.

Ain't much to split down the middle. My business provides a service. Nothing else. 2 employees and a 2015 work van. No tangible assets. Just a customer portfolio.
So how are you carrying that much debt?
Your debt to equity ratio seems to me to be pretty screwed, but I don’t have access to your balance sheet.
Tell her she can have it. She gets the debt too. Give it to her. Smile while doing so.
Go buy a new van.
Hire your 2 guys away from her, give them a $3/hour raise.
Do everything right this time. Including not having over $300k in debt when your only asset is a 2015
van.

What does your company do?
Posted on 7/23/23 at 9:47 pm to PrattvilleTiger
Assuming that’s the true value of your business, I’m sure you have conveniently discovered it has been struggling lately and has tons of liabilities all of a sudden. Depends on the type of business but could be value of underlying assets, value of future cash flows, etc. what kind of company is it? Construction company? Yeah maybe net assets…software company? Nah, not assets.

If she’s entitled to half your business, you are entitled to half her pension.
I know in my divorce, we both had to agree in writing in the divorce papers to not go after each other’s retirement. If you are self employed and don’t have a retirement fund, this may benefit you.

$300k in debt when your only asset is a 2015 van.

She gets the gold mine. You get the shaft.

If you are the driver of business it is Assets minus liabilities
If you sold it today what would be net proceeds minus debt and that is the business value
