Remember all that stuff about Alabama being among the most conservative states in the country? Well...

An analysis of leaked Ashley Madison data by scientist Jake Popham shows Alabama is the least faithful state in the country, at least when it comes to how much money people spent on the extramarital dating site. Alabama comes in first on the list, followed by Colorado and Washington, D.C. Among the states where people are least likely to cheat are West Virginia, Mississippi and Idaho.

The analysis showed Alabamians spent about $5.50 per capita on the site. Colorado, which came in second, spent about $4.50. The most-faithful state in the country, West Virginia, barely managed $1 per person.

Strange They'd pay so much to sex up their cousins.

Could have just walked across the trailer park.

Wait, so let's indict Alabama as being the most hypocritical state...that's fair. But then follow it up by Colorado? Is that not a fairly liberal state? Then one of the least cheat-y states is Mississippi, arguably MORE conservative than Alabama.

Media gon media.

one theory on why Alabama may be taking the blame is because it falls first on the alphabetical list for those who wanted to set up a fake – and untraceable – account.

Yeah, that's the story I'd tell my sister-wife, too.

I don't know about all of that because I can only speak for me personally. I know I don't need to log on Ashley Madison when my cousin is in the trailer next door.

Probably because most do not know the entire alphabet so they go with the first letter they know.

Not sure how accurate the data in the OP truly is.

Using both LA lists that were posted yesterday, the total dollars spent is ~$3.07M. With a population of 4.65M, LA's per capita spending should be $.66, yet the chart in the OP has us as more than a dollar.

The two lists posted yesterday were sorted by dollars spent, contained ~7930 names, and ranged in dollars spent from ~$9440 to $0 with the last name on the list.

Alternatively, the two lists posted yesterday could be incomplete data, even though the range would suggest otherwise.

Can't be true. All they had to do for these services is go to the trailer next door.

WV has 13 people that get on AOL. The fact that they spent enough to equal a buck oee capita is astounding
