Umm. The article said he was transferred to another hospital and released.
That doesn't add up. Seems there's a tad bit of exaggeration there, but why would I expect theroots.com to be unbiased.

I side with the police 95% of the time, but this does seem excessive for someone who didn't commit a crime and who was up against several officers. Surely 3 or 4 adult men can handcuff a 17 year old without him ending up like this... Sure there are exceptions, high on PCP, 6'6'' 275lb teenager, some sort of fighting experience background and resisted the entire time, etc.
None of that seems to apply here. I'm reading there's video and audio, I'd like to see it. But this doesn't look good.

Someone breaking the law does not give police the right to abuse someone.

That's the problem, it's hard to imagine 3 or 4 officers being unable to subdue a 17 year old with less force than whatever caused those injuries.

“Troy police officers did this to my son while he was in handcuffs,” Ulysses’ mom, Angela Williams, shared on Facebook on Sunday. “I hope that they body camera was on and they haven’t told me shite yet.”
The kid looked like someone beat the utter shite out of him. it would take more than restraining him to do that damage, I saw it floating on facebook last week.
That said, the last I heard was that the cops haven't said anything.

Maybe he hit his face when he was tackled to the ground? That's certainly plausible is it not?
I'm not siding one way or the other if there is video released and it's a blatant beating this string em up, but there are definitely reasonable explanations for it all at this point.

In today's world my automatic assumption is the police are lying until proved otherwise, which is the same standard they will use to judge me me if I am stopped.
