Know better than me.
Flying to New Orleans from Atlanta. Flight leaves at 6. I get there earlier then I was expecting. There was a flight 4 gates down from me leaving at 4:35 pm.
I walk up to gate and she says, "are you boarding this flight?"
I say, "if there is room?"
She says, "it's a 75 dollar fee to leave on an earlier flight"

At that point I was was like screw it. Give up my Delta Comfort seat to fly a middle seat and then sit in traffic driving to BR at 6pm
No thanks

If there was room there is no net negative to the airline. It may in fact help the later flight.

Agree.

Retarded.

Yep, I did the same thing but it was an Uber instead of a plane and there wasn't a lady to talk to about boarding or whatever. So then they were just like "frick it, let's get this done", and that's exactly what we did.

You're a terrible story teller.

Did you pass 3rd grade?

well does 'screw it' mean you got on the earlier flight and paid extra or not???

And sounds like you should have booked the earlier flight if you wanted to leave earlier. Learn to budget your time better.

Are you white? They always let me change to an earlier flight for free.

1. Why did you take the earlier flight if you knew you'd just end up sitting in traffic on the spillway?

2. Why not just have dinner and some drinks in ATL plus keep your comfort + seat and get more free drinks???

3. You can sweet talk your way onto an earlier flight for free. If that gate agent won't help, find another one

ETA: Now I understand your retarded story. You should've gone with number 3 above, plenty of people would have helped you out

If you had been flying first class like the rest of us OTers, I'm pretty sure they'd let you on the earlier flight.
