As a follow up... we survived! Did get approached by a guy on a bike selling an LSU hat for $5 as soon as we were getting our suitcases out of our Uber, but he was nice enough so I bought the hat. This neighborhood appeared to be in the process of gentrifying. Homeless camp under I -10 was large but we never went on foot by there. This would be a much more convenient location once all of Canal street is open again after the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel is demolished. Favorite bar on Bourbon street was Fat Tuesday’s, king cake vodka daiquiri there was legit!
