I was able to hotel search on Kayak for tonight (6/8-9). Plenty of availability in the $170 range.

hotel tonight has the Maven hotel for $199 it's by Coors field and looks pretty legit. Great looking bar... hope it works out. Uber there and try to find some positive in a shitty situation. Good luck.

He can always go get some space cakes and pass out on a park bench. It probably feels pretty good in Denver tonight.

He doesn't want to spend any money. Wants to see Denver so he left a day early but wants the company to pay.

I know that town, there are plenty of places, hell dozens where he is now.

In a room now at $139. They released a couple who didn't checkout and I got him to knock it down some. Crisis averted, because when you're in a new town without a car, things breakdown. Now, I'm only 1/4 mile away from the metro so I'm hitting downtown tomorrow, registration, and then my room number changes to the king suites. Good ending.

As someone who stayed in that area for a week, about a year or two ago, I know there are probably 10 other hotels in a block or two radius.

Do you mean to tell me that all of them are full?

Try checking with Hilton Garden Inn, Country Inn and Suites, Homewood Suites, Aloft, Woolley's Classic Suites, Cambria Hotel and Suites, Residence Inn, etc.

Edit: apparently, crisis averted. Though, there were 5 other hotels on that side of E 40th.

AirBnB used to have a 1 800 # to call in an event like this. The problem is AirBnB isn't used as much in the US so they may not be able to find anything.

In Europe there are places to stay everywhere and they are cheap. The people just want some extra spending money while they're on vacation.

Here it's like people are trying to get rich or pay off their mortgage through AirBnB.

A computer determines the best available rate. Depending on the software and the management, he can override that but only by so much.

Night audit will run a report and wonder why you have a much lower rate.

Rates also come in tiers. So on a given night you might have one person paying 165 while another pays 210, for the very same room. It all depends on when they booked.

I'd pay the 210 and make that other guy sleep on the floor

Your dumb arse can use airbnb and post here but you're too stupid to look at ANY hotel app and see plenty of rooms all over the city?

I would go over to the place that cancelled and break the windows

Damn it man. You got a cell phone. Download the Hilton and Marriott app to make your life easier when you need a room. I know things worked out but Hilton has over 40 properties located around Denver with vacancies. I can't tell you the last time I talked to a human to book a room. I book rooms from my phone and I practically live in these hotels during the week. I even have that Holiday Inn IGH app and the Choice hotel app just in case I need a back up to the back up. I'll be damned if I'm going to be stuck in some city without a damn hotel room.

Get creative. I'm sure in a beautiful city like Denver, there are many comfortable park benches and free newspapers to be had in the lobby of your hotel to use as blankets.

Use your time wisely. Find a puddle, slip and fall. Suddenly a room will become available.

Pretty sure Airbnb would offer relief if he called.
