Don't know how she would do this? Have to show ID at TSA along with your boarding pass.

What? She had this idea, was told by a dr who taught at Stanford in this field that what she wanted to do couldn't be done.

It would be like if I wanted to invent a machine that allowed humans to customize ourselves, we get into this machine and an hour later we naturally look like the person we designed to look like. It isn't possible to do.

So she went to a bunch of old white rich dudes who didn't know frick about technology and sold them on this idea. They were just happy to have some young broad talking to them and she sounded like she knew what she was talking about so they wrote her checks.

More and more people were questioning what she was doing but she kept getting the money to keep the business running.

How did woke culture play into this? I am not defending woke culture or anything, I am just curious if you are just throwing this around without putting thought into it and its simple enough that its easy for people to understand so people just agree with it because its cool to just blame "woke culture".

This was in the early 2000s as well, so things were not nearly as woke as they are today, but please expand on this.

You gotta be pretty dumb if you can’t figure out how to sneak into Mexico. But since I have love for everyone - including the slowest of those among us - I’ll provide a simple guide:

1. Go to any American border town with a corresponding Mexican town on the other side.

2. Walk your arse across pedestrian bridge, and benevidos a Mexico.

Bonus points if you choose anywhere other than San Diego/Tijuana, as that’s the only place they’ll even have Mexican officials processing you on the other side. You can walk from El Paso to Juarez and nobody would know.

Of course, making it to Mexico isn’t enough and hasn’t been since the Wild West. Will buy you a little time but that’s it. American jails are full of idiots who thought they were home free just because they made it south of the border

To be fair, innovation would stagnate if everyone was willing to just take the opinions of Stanford professors about what is possible.

She was smart enough to have a legal team that were ruthless if you went after her, along with some of the most powerful people on her board like Henry Kissinger, rubbed elbows (and probably sex) with Bill Clinton and the list goes on. She was banking on being an untouchable, but the failed venture with Walgreens was a critical error. She shouldn't have shot that far and flown that high to the sun. Eventually Walgreens had to act as people's improper cancer blood panels and early death due to improper screening was at play.

Follow the money. This isn't just a silicon valley issue. It's an institutional problem where you have pension funds and insurance that need bigger and bigger returns to remain solvent. Thats pushing them to more risky PE and VC money. It's not sustainable.

Exactly, and the smart ones weigh this out in the front end even before they put their scam into play. They know case precedence is say a $5M fine with a 7 yr sentence...out in 4 at a min security resort. They are sociopathic by nature so they can easily rationalize this away as just a cost of doing business...because they know when they get out they will be able to live off of millions in Swiss accounts and book/movie deals. See Wolf of Wallstreet as just one example of thousands.

She didn’t think to hire a private pilot to fly her in a small piper or or Cessna?

How did this moron become the CEO of a company?

It’s important that she goes to prison. The last high profile corporate execs to realize any consequences for their frickery are the Enron assholes. It is way, way over due.

Sex appeal and morphing herself into a powerful enigma with that deep fake voice. She had those old farts like Clinton and Kissinger eating out of the palm of her hand. Femme fatale, black widow type that are powerful at sucking (pun) you in.

There is a difference between telling someone "you will never do it" as in they will never do what it takes to reach that level and telling someone "that isn't possible because it literally can't be done.

It would be as if I said I want to build a spaceship to fly to Jupiter to live there. Right now that is far from possible. This is what she was told. What Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did was possible, they were just the first to build to market it, but she twisted those words around to say what you are saying.

It's ironic that it's hard to sneak into Mexico.

Let's not call what she did as "sneaking". Its probably not that hard to sneak in, but she pretty much made it easy for them to catch her.

The media WANTED a female to be the next Steve Jobs.

Her star power exploded because of the female empowerment aspect of it all.

She was everywhere before she even achieved anything of substance.

Fortune had her on their cover in 2014.

Forbes in 2015.

Time in 2015.

It peaked during Obama’s second term, 2013-14. That was when it received its $10 billion valuation, not the early 2000s.

She gained almost all of her notoriety during the Obama years.

Biden toured her facility. She visited the White House. She was touted as a symbol of female empowerment.
