How fricking cruel to keep a 20 year old on life support for 15 years.

I spent last fall in a coma. I've given my family instructions to pull the plug next time if I'm out over a week.

Do you remember anything while in the coma?

Every single minute. Literally trapped in a nightmare. And the worst part is I was in that state for so long that they were committed to my long term memory. I've actually considered counseling over it.

For real? I always thought you were out like anesthesia.

Went septic after a stomach surgery. I was out for a month. Not everyone dreams in a coma but I did. The dream was so long that I was convinced it was reality and thought I had gone crazy. Weird shite like thinking I was stuck to walls and couldn't move (because I was stuck in bed) to terrible things happening to my children. fricking awful. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Some people are. It just depends. The day I woke up and found out they were just dreams was the happiest day of my life. Even though I had lost all my muscle and couldn't move.

Did you ever realize you were in a dream to the point of actively manipulating it: i.e. Lucid dreaming?

Whoa..

Do you remember family or medical people speaking to you/around you?

Or were you just locked in your own head?

Some of it. And my pulse would increase when my wife and kids were in the room. One of the semi funny things that would happen is in my dreams random strangers would run up and give me injections.
