Most cops don’t want any part of it. Most are 2A proponents. Generalizations don’t help here.
Link? Because there are a lot more stories like this than ones about the hero cop who got fired for refusing to "do his job".

Because they dont write stories about officers personal opinions on laws.
A large percentage of cops are very pro 2A. (I would say the majority of them)
It is common for officers to be members of private gun clubs/ranges, teach conceal carry classes and/or to have FFLs.

Take these as you will just think they should be part of the thread
ETA a couple of notes:
Criminal contempt supports the idea he violated an order of protection
The fact no firearms were every visible during any of his live streams while under "siege" supports the idea his guns had been seized either earlier that day as he claims while his wife was at home or previously pursuant to an order of protection
The fact the wife isn't screaming to high heaven about the cops threatening to take her kids earlier that day if she didn't allow them in to seize his guns and generally defending her husband suggests to me Alex was probably playing very loose with the facts in other words I think he was lying his arse off.
As time goes by and his wife is not out defending him the more I become sure he is a 2A Jussie. This doesn't mean I automatically believe her regarding whatever she reported to get the (presumed) protective order but that really isn't germane nor were they part of his claims.
While red flag laws are certainly something we need to discuss and act assuming I am correct we need to take a hard look at reacting to some total stranger on the internet. tOT is normally extremely skeptical about things like this, for example, Jussie. I think this potentially is a prime example of how that skepticism needs to extend to all these sorts of stories.

Omg.
Now the police and their propagandists are posting fake stories about this guy.

Back in September, police were called to Booth's home for a domestic dispute. His wife claimed Booth was intoxicated and threatened her with a shotgun, prompting her to call the police. Law enforcement officers placed Booth under arrest, which automatically triggered an order of protection under New York state law. This is separate and different than red flag laws. Under an order of protection, Booth automatically had his firearms confiscated by police.
Saturday, Booth's estranged wife called police when she awoke to find him at her home, standing over her in her bed. Since this was a violation of the protection order, police reponded. As police approached Booth's home, the Sheriff's Department said an officer thought he heard a gunshot and called in for backup. Upon spotting the police, Booth barricaded himself inside his home.

This is going drastically different than the Aaron Carter thread... the question is why?
Called it on page 2. I guess the difference is Aaron Carter didn't commit a bunch of crimes while violating a protective order

One of the 2A content creators (180 Second Ideas) posted a vlog where he is relaying information provided by a friend of the family he was able to "verify". If true it is exactly what some of us are thinking that he had a protective order came into a house where his "soon to be ex" was staying in "full kit" and drunk and scared the shite out of her. This precipitated the first officer's arrival and calling for backup. Everything that has come out since his surrender indicates he is indeed a 2A Jussie and just like that situation there is a vocal group hanging on to the initial narrative like a Subway sandwich in a cold Chicago winter.
While not 100% I am a long way past being willing to bet good money on this guy was a dangerous liar.
YT link to 180 Second Ideas vlog, if it doesn't start at ~3:20 you can fast forward to that point where he starts realying the info from the person in NY.

As does the medical profession, Doc....thousands of people die at the hands of doctors every year that you never hear about.
A report by Johns Hopkins says about 250,000, other reports say as high as 440,000 PER YEAR.

That’s such a bullshite number. So doctors kill almost as many people per year as cigarettes? There’s only about 1 million practicing doctors in the US and many of those aren’t in direct patient care, so to believe that we kill 250-440k people per year is asinine.
Regardless, the difference between my profession and yours is when a physician fricks up and causes the death of a patient the rest of the doctors in the hospital don’t defend him/her despite evidence of guilt.

You have a reading comprehension problem.
Medical profession doesn’t equal physicians Try not to fulfill the stereotype of the narcissistic physician. There are a host of non physicians in the medical profession. Not to mention computer/system breakdowns.
Medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death, behind cancer and heart disease.

So does that include the 300,000 veterans who died on a waiting list from the VA?

I called this one right off the bat. The guy was obviously not right in the head in the video, and he still suckered a ton of people into believing his bullshite. Perfect example of people seeing whatever their bias wants them to see.

After reading this thread and the man's crimes, I'd say the red flag laws were just in this case.

If we can gloss over the fact this was never red flag law related...
