Advice needed after water leak from next door

I have a condo with wood tiles and the unit next door had a water heater go bad and leaked water all over the place. Nobody was home so water leaked for 2 days before they got it shut off. There is water under the baseboards and tiles at this point. What kind of work should I ask them to pay for? I'm sure they just want to let it all dry out naturally and forget about the whole issue, but I'm thinking there will be mold issues?

Get repair/replace estimates from 2-3 contractors. Then approach the other condo owner with the estimates and ask him to cover costs.

i was actually on the other end of this deal a long time ago. lived in a double and the washing machine hose busted. ate a hole through the adjoining wall and flooded both sides.

We have someplace to stay, thanks.
I think they probably have insurance. Not sure yet. But I do know they have money.

I personally would out in a claim with my carrier, let them deal with with your repairs etc then go after the neighbors insurance carrier for recovery.
It will be much easier to do that than attempting to deal with their carrier.

Some policies for condos and apartments exclude losses if the source of the water is off premises, aka come from someone else’s unit.

Ive not run across one that didn't cover for something like that.
And OP, if you haven't installed your water heater recently, I would look into it.
I used to live in a multi family building (only 4 units) and one water heater failed after about 10 years, I told everyone in the building to get theirs changed as they were all installed at the same time.
Just something else to consider
