Watching the ads associated with football play offs, I find zero purveyors of information that would cause me to purchase anything.

But you did watch something that allowed you to watch the game without paying extra for it. What is the value of free/ad subsidized entertainment to society? What about all of the free information and entertainment we consume every day on sites like TD?

Everyone hates ads until they have to start paying the real price of “free” stuff.

Not me. I prefer not to transfer my wealth to consumerism.

The only thing I get from advertising these days is that white men don’t exist except to be the lovable progressive homo or the disgusting criminal robbing a single mother. There is no in between.

What are you investing in if I'm not buying stuff?

What kind of good does it make society do? Or does society do well?
There are those Grammarly ads that could do some well for society.

Land. I'm always investing in land.

And because of that land, I am a minimal consumer. I raise cattle, meat chickens and wild game. I also have rent producing properties.

My intention is to not prop up society or the local economy, my only goal is to prop up myself.

If they would let us customize ads to our liking it would be a lot more effective.

You don’t find it beneficial when you read an ad that tells you what time and channel the Super Bowl is on?

What about the ad that tells you there is a gas station at the next exit while on a road trip?

Never watched a movie trailer and thought, that might be good. I should check that out.
