I take Vyvanse. It helps somewhat, but I still have to force myself to avoid distractions.
This. And one thing you have to train yourself to do, is that if you train yourself to focus, you have to get rid of the bad habits. If you are just taking meds to focus on TD.com or Youtube or r/gonewildcurvy, then you are just wasting your time and money.

If you don’t take the meds what happens
I will eat anything in site, I am likely to get zero work done, or frick off until 4:30 and then try to get something done that I have to have done by 5. The problem is, even on the meds you still have to make yourself a schedule or a to do list. otherwise you are spinning your wheels.
I find that the medicine above all other things, has slowed my brain down and allows me to keep focus on at the moment things. I write stuff down more, keep to do lists, organize better. When I am not on meds, my brain is going 1 million mph.

You have any studies on this? I’d be interested in learning more about gods hand in the medical field.
Which god works the best? Jesus, yahweh, or Zeus?

Just like with my son, I tried pretty much everything for 2 years to get it under control. Ended up trying the meds, and it's worked wonders. The only drawback is that the med I am on, I need the 50mg, but it makes me grouchy as frick so instead of being a dick to my kids and wife, I take the 40mg and it evens out.
which meds?

i'm beginning to think i have something similar to ADHD. i can be looking at someone while they're talking to me, but i'll be thinking about something completely else. not even related to the person talking or the subject they're talking about.

I have no interest in unnecessarily criticizing people with behavioral/mental health issues.
But, while your comment probably isn't well-meaning, it's a fair point when talking about academic and job performance measures.
