I used to be for decriminalization until I heard the mindless dribble of punks who smoke it, and read the embarrassing attempts at legal arguments of the clowns on here.

Also my short term memory has gotten absolutely decimated over the last few years due to sleep deprivation so I can't do it and function, as it would worsen a flaw of mine I am aiming to correct. So now I'm for recriminlization with harsher sentencing, especially for those who make dumb arguments.

No not really but the pro legalization crowd makes it really hard to get behind, I'll say that.

I'm 100% for legalization. However, the proponents of legalization are some of their own worst enemies.

The problem is alcohol ruins people's lives yet is legal. I'm not arguing against alcohol, I'm just saying why have one thing legal that is damaging to society. If you drink and argue against weed, it makes you s hypocrite.

That is all.

Plus, peoole like you still haven't given one good reason weed shouldn't be legal.

Vehemently disagree.

It’s about relating to people who have no experience with marijuana and consider it a hard drug like heroin or crack. It’s also about relating to the policy makers…and politicians are known to drink quite often. Alcohol isn’t going anywhere and showing that marijuana is far safer and better for you than alcohol changes their frame of reference when thinking about marijuana. The intention is to completely change the mindset people have when they hear the word “weed” or “marijuana”. We want to get away with it being grouped with heroin and more along the lines of being grouped with alcohol, a substance widely used and accepted by all demographics.

Non-addictive
Non-lethal
Minimal health side effects
Massive tax revenue potential

Those should be the talking points. I agree. The alcohol comparison is just used to relate weed to something everyone loves and accepts.

Or the fact a man in LA can spend 13 years in jail for having 2 grams of marijuana.

That is damaging to society.

I just think it's hypocritical for alcohol and pharmaceutical abusers to say anything at all about marijuana.

Yeah I was trolling. I think it's a stupid waste of law enforcement resources. But the adamant pro legalization guys are the worst.

But hopefully we get rid of the Chris Christie types (from both sides of the aisle).

No doubt, but is something policy makers will not like because of the private prison lobby paying them.

Its also something people who aren't in jail and currently don't smoke pot probably don't give a frick about (even though they should).

I'm speaking strictly of LA. The national average is it cost $74/day to house one inmate, but LA has figured out how to do it on $24/day.

The extra money goes straight into the sheriff and prison owners pockets. They aren't helping any of these men become productive members of society once let out, and the cycle continues and these arse hats keep lining their pockets.

I completely agree.

But like I said, most people don’t know that nor care enough to learn about it. Right wingers in red states will always vote with the cops and law enforcement.

What that argument does is frame it as a fight against law enforcement. That isn't the most effective way to approach this IMO.

Colorado framed is "hundreds of millions of dollars for the school system via tax revenue". That would be the most effective.
