I did just have another thought. Buy another of the same mount. Drill all the way thru, and you can bolt them back to back with the brick in between.

That might not have been a bad idea. Except I did buy

You def need to utilize the studs to carry the most weight. No way any brick anchors would suffice on a floating unsupported brick wall.

Which is where it will be again if you listen to that moron Ramrod.

Did you think this wouldn't hurt my feelings?

Well. . . that's my opinion as well. But it seems like you and I are in the minority.

Regardless of others' opinions, I'm going to support this fricker on the backside of the brick. I can't trust the anchors to hold in a mortar joint of an unsupported brick wall.

I get it Ramrod. He ran me out of the GMT a few months back. Made me contemplate suicide with his jeering. It hurt. If we're being honest here, it still stings.

I used the masonry bolts and anchors provided with my tv mount and its as sturdy as a tv mount can be. Has been up for years.

You definitely need to disperse the stress. Another option would be to secure the backside hardware of frame to the floor or put boards between the frame and the ceiling hoists. Both would fight the tendancy of the supports to lift as the TV tries to fall. If you follow.

Either way looking forward to seeing you.

do you even know what stress means? you dont disperse stress. Stress is caused by something. you cant go outside one day and say hey i think im going to disperse the stress on this will. you freakin dummy.

BTW im wondering what yall mean by an unsupported brick wall. I mean it is a wall. It is supported.

There are more technical terms, but I'm trying to dumb down the discussion because you are in it. You're having trouble with a four-letter word like wall and you expect me to use terms Beyond something like stress? Sit back shut up and listen.

You accost shoplifters for a living, shut up.

You can disperse a point load, which I what I'm sure LCA meant. By spreading that load over a larger area, you effectively decrease the stress (force/area).

The bricks are stacked on top of each other and joined by mortar. They are attached to nothing else.
