I’ve never met anyone that drinks vodka from a water bottle who wasn’t an addict.

It's common at Mardi Gras parades/tailgates in Louisiana. Pack a cooler and one water bottle has an X on the top in Sharpie. That's booze. The kids know not to drink that one. It's practical and not as trashy as having a Fifth of vodka/rum in your cooler with kids juice boxes along side adult beverages.

My dog has it. Nearly killed her. Vet tells me it's going to be a chronic condition for the rest of her life.

I just spent a week in the hospital for diverticulitis with a stomach abscess.

I was just coming here to post this. I suffered an acute attack of this from July to early October. I did the CT scan and the nasty round of antibiotics.
The pain persisted until I learned the hard way that I cannot eat jalapeños and tabasco with nearly every meal the way that I could when I was a youth.
Once I eliminated that from my diet, everything went back to normal. I guess I got lucky and caught it early.

Alcoholics go to great lengths to keep themselves in denial.

Yes my dad had it and waited. Got bad and he went to the er instead of driving in ng to the VA in. Biloxi. Doctor said decision to not drive it saved his life. He would have died at the state line.

shite is serious. Your friend needs to go to the hospital

Woke up Memorial Day 2017 with an awful stomach ache. Laid around all day complaining, wife made me go to urgent care. Urgent care told me I needed to fart and to home and take Gas X. Went to work the next day and left after lunch to go home.

Drove to the ER that night expecting to be told the same thing, was immediately admitted.

Doctors and Nurses would not take my word that I wasn’t an alcoholic, I’m really not a big drinker at all. They kept giving me a pill, and when I asked what it was for, they told me it was so I didn’t get the shakes from alcohol withdrawals. At that point I had to sign a paper for refusing medicine.

It probably didn’t help that I kept asking when I was getting out because I had to get to Atlantic City - my buddies bachelor party was that weekend.

Went in the hospital on a Tuesday, treatment was “don’t eat or drink for two days”. Discharged on Thursday and went down to AC Friday - I just had to swear to the Doc I wouldn’t drink that weekend.

Sure have, no fun.

Use of alcohol must be stopped.

Hadn't drank in some 35 years, now

Count your lucky stars...I thought I had mine figured out too...Not so much...I am lying here typing with a huge abdominal incision and 12 less inches of my intestines. Don't mess with diverticulitis.

Yep, caused by alcohol in my case.

Stayed in the hospital a few days, got out and started drinking heavily. Somehow I lived through all of that
