Ok so I take that as a “No”. It’s not like buying a bag of chips. Hell, it’s easier to buy a car than it is to buy a gun and cars result in WAY more people dying than guns do every year.

This is a fundamental disagreement you and I will have and neither of us will change our mind. The reason why law abiding citizens should own guns is three-fold in my mind:

1: owning and responsibly operating a gun instills an amount of respect for the power guns can release that you simply don’t get without handling them. They aren’t toys, and every gun owner I know treats them with the respect they require
2: LEO and FLEO (WTF is that even) are not my personal body guards and are not there to protect me. They are there to enforce the laws after they are broken.
3: In the event of government tyranny, everyday law abiding citizens need the ability to push back. It’s REALLY fricking tough to do that when you are unarmed. Look at the UK and how people have been arrested over social media posts. Look at what happened to the average citizens in Australia during Covid. Look at the Uyghurs in China

You are exposing yourself as a fool in this thread just FYI.

Empty platitudes, zero logic and blaming whitey.

You want the truth? Perhaps Afghanistan or Pakistan.

Not here in America.

If you normally have to fill out a federal form under penalty of federal perjury laws, prove your identity, and undergo a federal background check in order to purchase a bag of chips where you shop, it might be time to try a different store.

I always think the posters here have a tendency to cry "troll" when someone posts something with which they do not agree. However, in this case, you are 100% spot on. No one but a troll trying to shite stir would post that quote.

No. Not even close. I said stricter background checks not laws. Don't want red flag laws. I'm very pro 2A.

You know the difference between background checks and laws correct?

They are not the same thing.

This is plain false. If guns are off the market, no one will have the means to acquire them. That will make the job of police officers and federal law enforcement safer and easier. Crime will go down 90%.

I get the "Guns dont kill people, people kill people" thing but people use guns to kill people. Without guns communities, schools and universities become safer.

Guns are for just one thing....killing....and that is a bad thing.....

You think guns would work against armies with tanks and figher planes and bomber aircrafts.

This is not the 1790s it is 2025s.

That is the question Australian authorities have to investigate.

But compare Austrlia's per capita homicide rate with that of the US and while at it compared that with some more advanced third world countries as well.
