The vehicle situation is confusing because the news indicates he arrived in an SUV and that this vehicle was found. I wonder if he stole the Charger?
They've formally named him as the suspect in both shootings.

Either way, didn't the police say in the presser that he arrived in a totally different vehicle which they located?
I don't know if the girlfriend had children, but I certainly feel for the deceased professor's wife and children as well as the shooter's children and family. I read an article that a neighbor said he and the gf moved in the home in June. Since he claimed to be a single parent, I wonder if his kids lived with him? Thank goodness he didn't off his kids, too.

I coached at DSU for the past 3 years before taking a job at a local high school. Was on lockdown at our high school until 2 hours ago. Loved Dr. Schmidt. He was a great man and teacher. He took time to tutor our athletes that struggled with social sciences.
RIP Dr. Schmidt....

Not as well as Schmidt.
But I did meet him a few times, mostly this past spring. Nice man, never would have pegged him to do something like this.

Somehow he had two cars there, I guess. The police said they have his green suv, but he's now in the gf's car. I also read that a silver truck was towed from the gf's house.

So many school shootings, it's wild. People have the capacity to do such great things with their lives yet resort to this. It's depressing.

I work at DSU and I talked to a couple students who were in the building where everything happened. They said they heard three bangs, but they thought it was someone banging on the desk. One of them has a family member in Gautier who works with the police. They said (rumor, but it makes sense with the timing of the Gautier murder and when things went down on campus) that Lamb called in the murder of his lover from his office, then went and shot Schmidt.

News reports indicate Lamb called the police and reported the death of his gf. I don't know what time or from where he reportedly called.
