Acquaintance Running A Scam?

This person asked for any Walmart receipts I had for over $20. I gave them one receipt and then I said the rest is on the Walmart savings catcher app. This person then started blowing up my phone wanting me to send them pics of the receipt on the savings catcher app. After googling this, I noticed other possible scams. Am I being scammed? Is Walmart?
*This person specifically asked for cash receipts said they didn't want a receipt that was paid for with a card.
What I found from google:
Scenario 1
-Person A purchases a $300 knife set.
-Person B grabs a duplicate knife set, and puts it in a secluded location within the store, then texts the other to let them know where it is.
-Person A puts the knife set in their car, then returns to the store, and heads over to the location where the second set is.
-Person A returns the second knife set for a full refund, keeping the original.
Scenario 2
-Person A purchases an item.
-Person B takes the duplicate item and hides it in a mutual location.
-Person A walks over and switches out their purchased one for the non-purchased.
-Person A returns the item to the counter, without the receipt, stating "I lost the receipt, but you just saw me here". They get a full refund.
-Person B uses the receipt and returns the purchased one a few days later to avoid suspicion. He would make it out of the door easily. (After all, he has the receipt.)
-Thieves bask in their $600 profit and Wal-Mart doesn't even know it.
Could the acquaintance look for the item(s) on my receipt at Walmart and then return it for cash?

If someone asked me for a picture of my Wal-Mart receipt, I’d automatically think it was some sort of scam.
That’s a really odd request.

OP is in Arkansas so to be honest this might just be a reasonable request in those parts.

Sounds like your acquaintance didn't think you knew about the savings catcher app and wants to collect as many receipts as possible to put them into their account.

In order for me to fully understand these scenarios I need to know the races of Person A & Person B.

Sounds like they are trying to get a refund but am I missing something?

Someone asking you for old Walmart receipts wasn't enough of a red flag?

Tell them to frick off and lose your number. That’s what you’re missing.

Can’t do that anymore, for Savings Catcher it has to be paid via Walmart Pay
You don’t even get a receipt, it’s saved in the Walmart app

the ability to pick better friends?

Why does person A need to put the knife set in the car before going to Wal Mart?

No. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
