Imagine you are psychic and at the beginning of the virus you knew that Covid would kill "x" number of people if we followed shutdowns, quarantines and masks and "y" number of people with zero government action.

What would be your numbers for acceptable losses and when serious action was definitely required?

Considering a significant number of deaths were of people who knew the risks and knew they were vulnerable and still decided to venture out and live life, I don’t see how I can answer this question.

People should be allowed to willingly take risks. They aren’t victims if they played a role in being infected.

Purging 10% of our unhealthy population would have been good for us

If same number infected regardless.
Shutdowns kill more people.

States with hard shutdowns have fared worse than states that did little.

There is no number worth essential freedom. If the virus was actually dangerous, then people and businesses would freely decide to take their own precautions without needing the government to force them to at the barrel of a gun or the prong of a tazer.

Okay. If you can walk up to someone, even if they are in your family and tell them, sorry but you have to die so I don't have to wear a mask, you are a special kind of subhuman.

Regular Flu kills more people than Covid ever will.

So few of the "death toll" actually died because of Covid.

Its like if they started a death toll for people that died while suffering from allergies, and blamed it on allergies.

You theorized question leaves out an entire part of the equation. The tens of thousands dying because of the economic costs of “flattening the curve”. How many suicides and starvations are worth it?

Okay, if you make up bullshite hypotheticals that are in no way tethered to reality just to score a cheap political point, you are a special kind of subhuman.
