AC drip pan help

System cut off tonight. Went into the attic to find the drip pan full. Temp was currently 75° in the house.
I got my shop vac and emptied it and set the thermostat to 66°. I have a call put into my AC guy to come in the morning.
You think my system will be good through the night or should I expect it to cut off again? Praying I make it to morning so I don’t sweat.

Set in your system down to 66, definitely expect your drip pan to fill back up. It sounds like the hose that goes off of your drip pan and takes the water outside is stopped up or really full. You can take bleach and pour it down that hose and it would eventually unclog, or you can blow air through the line and then bleach it and it'll help keep it unclogged. They now make special stuff you can pour down the line that will also do that that you can buy on Amazon. Good luck

The lower you set the temperature on your AC the more dripping you will have going into that pan.

So if I want to get cold as possible tonight, what would be my best method?
I’ve tried to bleach method before with zero luck.
I’m 99% sure it’s just a clogged line. Just need to survive until my guy shows up.
Side note: is there anyone I can call tonight who wouldn’t crush me in fees to unclog it tonight?

Aw shite just pore some damn bleach or vinegar down the damn drain line and forget about it. Life ain't that hard

You should regularly change your ac filters, clean the outside coils and pour bleach down the drain line to prevent this from happening
But to answer your question, you should be able to get through the night if you cleared the pan

I change my filters every 60 days.

Said it really cold, then get up in 3 or 4 hours vacuum out the water and go back to bed. Sorry that's all I can think of. I actually put a fitting outside for my hose came out so I could use the air compressor to blow it out one time. I had my son hold a towel over the other end inside the house whenever it blew the shite out. Like I said Amazon sells some new stuff that is supposed to unclog it and keep it unclogged. Good luck on trying to stay cool tonight, I know how it goes

Just put a shop vac hose on the pipe outlet. This is one of the easiest ways to save money you will ever encounter.

You should be able to pretty easily vac out the line from outside or from the unit where there’s a blow or release line.

Call your husband to fix it. This isn’t a difficult job.

I expect it to. My concern is if it’ll fill up before the morning.

Blow air thru the line

You still need to do the other 2 maintenance items I mentioned. Your AC needs to breath by cleaning the outside coils, along with changing the ac filters, and the drain lines need to be cleared of mold.

Put one end of a towel into the drip pan and the other end into a larger pan. Problem solved.

I’ve seen the foam aerosol spray people spray on the outside of the unit to clean the coils.
Is it just as simple as spraying it on and then hosing it off? Should I cut the system off before doing this? Is turning it off on the thermostat enough of do I need to cut it completely?

OP doesn't come across as the type of person who has an air compressor or shop vac
