Marked the beginning of the end for this country, we are seeing the final chapters now.

First I want to say that the African Slave trade was the absolute worst thing to happen to America.
Second, Lincoln was a liar, tyrant and the first progressive. I can't believe we allow authoritarians to hijack words like progressive, liberal, etc. The right is just as authoritarian, they just have never been good at hijacking and changing the meaning of words.
If you went to school in the south they tell you how Lincoln was smart, writing with charcoal by candle light and other BS. They forget to tell you he wiped his arse with the constitution and ignored the restrictions put on the Federal government by the constitution.
From what you learn about the civil war and slavery from school you would think every southerner had their own personal slave and nobody north of the Mason Dixon line ever had nor supported slavery...

There is a reason he is on Mount Rushmore.

Lincoln was able to carry 18 states and 180 electoral votes, winning the election despite capturing less than 40% of the popular vote and despite not being on the ballot in many southern states.
I'd like to know how many extra electoral votes & US representatives Southern states got due to the "three-fifth compromise" ? Despite the three-fifths compromise giving Slave states disproportionate House Reps. & electoral votes , Lincoln won the Presidency without a single state in which slavery was legal

I believe that election year Joe Biden was going into his second term in Congress.

I read these Lincoln threads for the sweet revisionist history I can't get anywhere else.

So it is your opinion that Lincoln should have just stood by and let Southern militia seize federal property to include U.S. naval warships and other weapons of war?

In essence, the LOSERS wrote the history of the Civil War for the first 100 years.
In 1860 some states ( MS./ S Carolina) had a majority Black population seen as little more than property, but 3 of every 5 was counted when it came to House Reps & Electoral votes. I would love to know how many extra votes & Reps. the South got due to this?
