I get a good laugh at the ones that dress like they're attending a ball at the White House, but in the market for a $175k house.

So, you've just straight up never been with a woman longer than a 15 minute "appointment" type deal right?

Not all women, of course, but 99% of women do this before going to check the mail. You bet your Sweet Aunt Mary's arse they're going to do it if they're going to be on television.

Jokes on them, all that work, and i'd still frick em either way.

FFS - women don't dress for men - if anything they undress for men.

Women dress to impress OTHER women. That's a big reason why I can comfortably say they're all insane.

This show requires that you have lived in your house for 3-6 months before they start filming. So one of the three homes they are "looking at" is already theirs... it is all just show.

Correct. Filled out an application back in the day when my wife and I were looking, and they were interested, but wanted me to get back in touch after closing.

only thing I want to know is how a school teacher and dental hygienist can have a budget of $800,000.

pfft... that's barista and Uber driver budget right there. Teacher and Hygienists would be insulted to live in anything below $1.2M.

Wonder how that works? Do they move all your stuff out and back in? What if one of the houses they show you is better than your current place?

I remember the house hunters episode of the family who wanted to live in Mandeville. They showed them a place in the del that won out (which i guess must have been the place they bought to begin with).

weird....

I guess so... or they might even just move it into garagas/extra bedrooms and in some places they can probably just move furniture all to one side and angle the shot accordingly. We ended up bailing on that place and didn't buy for another few years, so I never got back in touch.

Tough shite, probably. That would suck though.

This is not true. Wife and I were on House Hunters several of years ago and while we had to be under contract before they would come to film, we did not close on the new house under after filming was complete.

ETA: to answer the original OP question, the producer went through our closet and picked out what he felt would look good on TV.

Not sure if it is online anymore. The title is Moving Back to the Big Easy. If you do find it, let me know. My daughter was asking me recently so she could show a friend.

Yes. The 2 other houses we looked at were picked for us along with a list of pros and cons so we wouldn't waste valuable time actually looking at the houses and coming up with our own things we liked and disliked about them.

Also, we were moving in just a few days but could not start packing until they completed the filming at our current house. They didn't want moving boxes in the shots when we were supposed to just be in the "looking" stage.

I thought they said closing, because we were under contract. Maybe I am remembering wrong, but either way the house was already decided.

$500 and being recognized by strangers when you go to the grocery store. They did buy us lunch on the days they were filming.
