Any time I hear Aaliyah it takes me back to (I think it was) 1995-1996. Unlike now, young people all kind of listened to the same stuff, so it's difficult to draw a present-day comparison. (There were what we called "head bangers" of course, who listened to really loud distorted music that's lost to history now, but the rest of us heard a lot of Aaliyah.)
