AAA roadside assistance - Anyone have it? Worth the $$?

Anyone have AAA? Wondering if the roadside assistance deal is worth it?
My primary car is new and what I use for most interstate travel but I have a couple of older cars that sometimes aren't as reliable.
I tried looking around online but it is hard to separate legit reviews from paid articles and fake shills. Help me out OT.

You can get most of the same services through your auto insurance policy for much, much less.
Just make sure you pay for the service out of pocket first, get an itemized receipt, and turn it in to your insurance company via a claim after. Otherwise you'll be sitting on the side of the road waiting for your insurance company's preferred roadside assistance company to arrive for hours.

We have it through our insurance primarily for my wife. She's good about blowing out a tire about 3 times per year and I got tired of having to leave work, change it and go back home and change clothes.

I have roadside through my cars manufacture and my insurance company. One covers short range trips really well and the other covers long range trips well. I mainly have it because I don't have a spare tire, a spare won't fit over my brakes in the front and my wheel and tires are staggered from the factory. I have never had to use it, but a simple flat requires a Flatbed. AAA is nice that it travels with you no matter what car you are in, even if you are a passenger. It is legit, but I don't know the costs involved.

We have had zero issues with it. My wife had to use it to get the spare put one time, when I was out of town. I've had to use it twice to get my door unlocked after locking my keys in (older truck).
That alone has been worth the five bucks a month from me.

AAA is a no-brainer. Not only can they come change my tire or jump-start my battery, it also covers a tow when needed. Use any of these services once and it has paid for itself. On top of that, almost all hotels offer AAA discounts - if you take advantage of this once, it has again paid for itself. Yes, some insurances and car warranties offer similar services, but just whipping out your AAA card is easier (and you can use it in for any car you are with, even if it's not yours).

I've had AAA for 5 years. I commute 2 hours daily and my daily driver is a 12 year old car. I've never needed them but I'm sure I will eventually

It's what, like $60 a year or something? I'll probably get it when my Toyota care expires. I can change my own tire just fine, but if it's something worse and I need a tow, like the others have said, it pays for itself after one tow.

I have it, peace of mind for daughter (no pics) away at college and wife (no pics) when I am out of town for work. As others have said, could get roadside cheaper through car insurance.

What kind of vehicle do you have? That's going to suck the day you get a flat in the middle of no where or late at night

There was a thread a few months ago about how people don’t get flats as often anymore. I guess that doesn’t apply in your life.
